ABOUT
Inspired by Mathematics written by Yasin Bey, A.K.A Mos Def, produced by DJ Premier from the Album, Black on Both Sides. I wanted to weave a typographical experimental film that involves illustrated type portrayed on a light table, and 3D type generated through Cinema 4D. This style explores the realm of type and meaning through the monochromatic color scheme and hand held live footage. The 3D texts are tracked on specific spaces allocated in the illustration itself. This piece involves layers of translucent paper with
illustration of the lyrics composited through digital layers in Adobe After Effects. The typography for the illustratrations were printed and replicated in the illustration style to maintain kerning and leading of the typeface. It speaks upon how information in visual, kinetic, and auditory communication cohesively expresses the reality of existence in the 21st century. Creating micro to macro point of views on the ideas of Yasin Bey.
